Her sleep was stirred by a conversation between three people. Lazily, she opened her eyes and looked out of the window. They were caught in the middle of a traffic jam. From the conversation, she knew that it was already nearly an hour that they were stuck like that. She doze back to sleep. Suddenly, she remembered something. She has to be in the meeting room at 10. The dashboard watch was 9.45. Could they make it there by 10? She prayed silently. "O Lord, Please let us reach there in time". She looked at her parents' faces. She looked at her big brother's face. She knew they were worried too.
She remained silent.

"How is it?", asked her dad.
"i didn't get rejected, but i didn't get accepted as well. still under consideration", she said.
"Well, no news is a good news, right?". said someone from the back.
"I guess so", she replied.
Her mom and dad smiled. Her brother smiled. She smiled. But she was hurt. Considering all the efforts and sacrifices that they had made that day, they must have feel disappointed. She prayed silently, "O Lord, give me the opportunity to bring a smile to their faces".
* * *
"okay, we're leaving", dad said.
"be careful", she said.
"i'll be waiting for the good news", said dad before he went into the car.
she was stunned.
"What if she fail?".
Her head started ticking.
Weakly, she tried to produce a smile
to send her family back to their home.
